Testimonials

When my parents Andrew and Huguette Lafountain decided to sell their home they have lived in for almost 50 years in Chazy we thought we should have an auction because they had so much stuff and needed to downsize. My parents talked to another local auctioneer that they were considering but a friend of mine reminded me about Jeff Rigsbee and that we should give him a call. Since Jeff's family has been in the auctioneer business for so long and since my Mom worked with Jeff personally at Wyeth Ayerst for may years I thought it was a great idea. So I called Jeff and asked him to contact my parents to set up an an appointment to meet. They immediately were comfortable with him because they knew Jeff and his family were good, honest, local people that they could trust and feel comfortable to let in their home and handle such an important event. Plus it was a HUGE bonus to find out he charged 50% less commission compared to the other person they interviewed and Jeff doesn't charge any buyer premiums so it was better for the buyers who came to the auction and my parents both.

Well, I can't stress enough how pleased my parents and I were with the entire process. Jeff and his team came over to my parents house many times and helped them get everything ready. They sorted, packed, and moved everything they wanted to sell at the auction. They were all very professional and understanding on what a "Big Deal" this was for them. Jeff did a lot of marketing in the local papers, put up hundreds of flyers. posted 8 or 10 pages of pictures on his website and even advertised on cable TV to get the word out. When auction day came they had all the tents, chairs and my parents 50 years worth of collectables were staged and ready to go. The auction started at 10am and Jeff and Brian Recor never stopped auctioning until everything was sold which was at 7:30pm. It took 9 hours to get through everything my parents had accumulated over the last 50 years. Some things went much higher then we expected for sure and some things went lower then expected but when it was all over my parents ended up with three times more money then they had expected. EVERYTHING sold except a box of encyclopedias and an old TV. We couldn't believe it. It was all gone in one day and we have never seen anyone work so hard that day then Jeff, Brian, Samantha, Sonya, Maria, Joey, Katrina, Dan, Rachel, Ellen, Fernando and the rest of the team. Once the auction was over Robin and Rachel collected all the money from the buyers and stayed over two hours to total up all the amounts, to make sure every dollar was accounted for. Then Jeff and Robin stayed longer and went over the itemized list of all the expenses including the advertising, the wages for the team, the porta-potty rental etc. so we knew that night exactly what my parents would net after Jeff and everyone was paid. They also gave us a very detailed itemized list of every single thing that sold and for how much each item sold for to keep for our records. It was also a blessing knowing that they took care of collecting and paying the NYS sales taxes so we didn't have to worry about it.

WOW, this auction that could have been very stressful for my parents all went without a hitch and like I said, could not have gone any better. If you are considering having an auction, do yourself a HUGE favor and call Jeff Rigsbee from Third Generation Auctions.

When the amount of items I wanted to sell was not enough to qualify as an estate auction, Jeff Rigsbee of Third Generation Auctions (TGA) gave me the opportunity to combine with another estate sale as an add-on consignment. I was very pleased with the hard work and dedication Jeff showed in preparing everything for advertisement and sale. I attended the auction and was impressed with the efficiency of their operation. Should we ever decide on a complete estate auction, I would not hesitate to contact TGA to do the job.

Having become empty-nesters, my Husband and I decided it was time to downsize and move from a big 4-bedroom home into a condo.  That meant selling a lot of the items, including treasures we gathered over 21 years together.  It was too big of a job for us, so I contacted TGA and Jeff came to the house to determine what would sell and how to prepare for a home-site auction.

We were nervous when A-Day (Auction Day) arrived, but Jeff and his staff moved furniture and boxes, set up displays, and described items with such professionalism and detail.  No item was too big or too small for Jeff to sell.  Overall, we did so much better than we could have done by ourselves.

I would recommend TGA for anyone looking for an organization with ties to the community and small-town values.  Jeff and his staff treated us with respect and honesty from planning to execution to clean-up.  Thank you Jeff!

On June 4, the Matthews’ family had an on-site estate auction facilitated by Jeff Rigsbee and Brian Recor.

The upfront advertising was fabulous, which produced an awesome crowd, and we had perfect weather conditions.  Our auction produced double-digit results, which was double what had been predicted.

Jeff is very organized and knows how to display auction items to make them look appealing.  He was very understanding of the family’s feelings on the treasured items we had and knew just what to say to make you feel at ease during this difficult time while going through the auction process.

It was a lot of work preparing for the auction, but Jeff was there to help us through it all.  We never dreamed that we would be able to sell all the items, but Jeff and Brian worked miracles and nothing was left behind.  Unbelievable!!  They worked very hard preparing for the auction, were very well organized, and got the best prices possible. I can wholeheartedly recommend them with no hesitation whatsoever. We sure did choose the right person for the job and Jeff exceeded our expectations.

If you are interested in a huge crowd, excellent auction results, an honest and straightforward auctioneer and complete satisfaction, call Jeff Rigsbee.  You will not be disappointed!

My introduction to Rigsbee's Auctions was during the Summer of 1966. I still recall the unique excitement    that only such an event can create. Forty plus years later, I still had that feeling when Jeff Rigsbee , of TGA Auctions conducted the Chazy Public Library auction at the G.W. Clark property in Chazy.

As a member of the library board, I was quite involved with the planning and physical work of the preliminaries. Jeff was most helpful, visiting and working on site quite a few hours, offering helpful  suggestions, eliciting ours, and accepting them when appropriate. His expert knowledge was evident.

Jeff provided his sound system, chairs and tables, signs, and publicity. With the able assistance of Brain Recor, they ran an interesting and memorable auction for the library raising needed funds for our renovation project.

Jeff and Brain graciously donated their time, "giving back to the community" for a good cause. I would recommend Third Generation Auctions for anyone who wants to have a well-organized and successful on-site auction.

On August 1, 08 TGA conducted an auction of 20 years of family treasures. I have to commend the whole group of people working with TGA, They helped set up, sort and display family treasures with dignity and respect to my requests. The auction was a total success and everyone enjoyed the day. It was a lot of work, but TGA was there to help every step of the way understanding how hard it was for me to part with many of our family treasures. I would highly recommend TGA for any of your auction needs. They are top of the line in what they specialize in, you will find no better.
